Here at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, classes are offered to help prepare children, youth, and adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage.

Baptism:
Baptism preparation classes are only offered when requested by a family, and must be taken by the child's parents and godparents prior to celebration of the Baptism.  There is only one class that is approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours long (with breaks), and there is great flexibility in scheduling.  To schedule your child's Baptism and arrange for a Baptism preparation class, contact Tony at (503) 775-6731, or tonygraham@olspdx.org.

First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion:
Catholic children typically receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in second grade, so preparation for these Sacraments is included in the Sunday morning Catechism classes for second graders.  To register your child for these classes, simply fill out the RE registration form and return it to us at the Parish Office, or call us at (503) 775-6731 for for Tony Graham.

Confirmation for Teens:
The Sacrament of Confirmation is usually offered to Catholic teens who are either sophomores or juniors in high school.  To register your teen for a Confirmation preparation class, fill out the RE registration form, or contact Tony Graham at (503) 775-6731, tonygraham@olspdx.org

Confirmation for Adults:
The Sacrament of Confirmation is usually offered to an adult when he/she joins the Church as a new Catholic, or if he/she did not receive the Sacrament as a teen.  Adults seeking this Sacrament can join the parish's RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) by contacting our pastor, Fr. Marriage:
Couples wishing to get married must contact the parish priest 6 months prior to the date of the wedding, and he will guide them through a marriage preparation course.  Couples seeking the Sacrament of Marriage can reach Fr. Chrispine at (503) 775-6731, Ext. 106, or frchrispine@olspdx.org.
