Ministers of Hospitality at Mass welcome our parishioners as they gather together to celebrate the Holy Mass. These ministers personally welcome each person and family as they arrive. Ideally, we will have two ministers for each Mass: one by the front entrance and one at the side entrance. Our Hospitality Ministers will lock the side entrance to the church immediately following the Gloria, and then move to the vestibule at the front entrance of the church. From here the ministers can greet any late comers and help them find a seat, while also keeping the doors closed in the vestibule to avoid any interruptions to the Mass.
After the Prayers of the Faithful, the collection(s) will be taken up and then brought to the altar with the Gifts. Money collected is then deposited in the Sacristy.
At the end of Mass, (after the Closing Hymn as the pastor leaves the altar), the front doors of the Church are opened.
If you are interested in serving as a greeter or usher, contact Fr. Chrispine today at (503) 775-6731, Ext. 106, frchrispine@olspdx.org, or talk with him after Mass.
Hospitality Ministers arrive 15 to 30 minutes prior to Mass, and should be willing to greet our parishioners with joy and friendliness in their greeting.
